Graduate Success Story: Ruth, the Veterinarian

Ruth entered our program when she was in first grade. She was born into a humble background, and her family had few resources, but her parents brought her to Circulo de Amigas to help finance her education. And ever since then, we have felt so lucky to have her as an integral part of our community. Ruth has demonstrated over and over again her resourcefulness, a keen intellect, and an always friendly and helpful disposition.

In addition to support for her education, Ruth's Circulo de Amigas sponsor, was able to help her family build a new home and improve their living conditions. Ruth's commitment to her family has always been central. At an early age, Ruth created a small business opportunity for herself, repairing cell phones and helping with computers. This extra income helped her mother with medical expenses and care for the other children in her family.

And Ruth never let academic opportunities pass her by. She chose her particular university program because they gave her the opportunity to work as a vet for Molinos de Nicaragua, S.A. in their large animal breeding program. During her tenure there, the firm boosted their outcomes significantly and attributed much of their success to Ruth.

Ruth currently lives with her husband and two children in Jinotega. In 2017, she finished her studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua - Jinotega, graduating with a degree in veterinary medicine and is currently employed as a veterinarian in Jinotega. She is a dedicated, hard-working, and caring individual. Ruth will also always be a member of our Circulo de Amigas family, and we love to share her story!
